James Thomas McGrath
born 3-11-1841 ~ drowned 21-11-1896
when whaleboat lost near Maria Island.
1841-1880 resided in Hobart
1883-1896 licensee Pembroke Hotel
Triabunna, also owner/captain of the
East Coast trading ketch 'Victory'.

The Tasmanian News, Wed 2 June 1897 reported:
The ketch Victory, which recently
traded in the East Coast service, was put up for sale to-day by Messrs Westbrook Brothers
for the executrix of the late Captain McGrath. The bidding was not at all spirited,
and at £3.5 the vessel was passed
in.
